DJ Khalid - #blessup

Some people still need proof that there is power in your speech. Like, we still do not get that whatever you say out of your mouth WILL come to pass. This isn’t something that, we in the church, just say or just a catch phrase that sounds good for a church to repeat. This is a law - whatever you say out of your mouth actually does have an effect on your life and the lives of others.

In the bible, God teaches us about using this power, and about this law. If we look at Proverbs 18:21 NIV, you will find these words: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

It clearly tells us that we have power in our speech. One scripture I think that is pretty dope is how God spoke light into existence. Genesis 1:3: "And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.“ . If we are made in the same image of GOD, this power in our speech is in us too right? Right!

Even the world knows about this law, it is called the “Law of Attraction”. Now, I found an explanation of this that makes it easier for me to understand and also tells in plain terms what the law is. The website www.thoughtco.com says that: “The Law of Attraction is one of the better known universal laws. The theory behind the Law of Attraction is that we create our own realities. Not only do we attract things we want, we also attract things we don't want. We attract the people in our lives, the stuff inside our homes, and the money in our bank accounts through our thoughts and feelings. When our beliefs are limited, we attract limited wealth.”

If we understand that GOD put different laws in the universe, then we can better understand the power of this Law.

A person who I believe lives and breathes this law and has fruit to show for it is…..DJ KHALID lol. YES, DJ Khalid. Some of you know who I am talking about. This DJ is one of the most positive speaking artists in the hip-hop world. He is always speaking blessings and positivity in the air, even down to the name of his record company, We the Best Music Group. I have followed his journey for a while, and even though the music that he produces isn’t preaching the gospel, when he does interviews and appearances he is always putting positivity in the air. He is hip hop's motivational speaker.

Some of the things he says:

“Always have faith. Always have hope.”

“The key is to make it.”

“Another one.”

“Key to more success is clean heart and clean face.”

“Smh they get mad when u have joy. ”You smart! You loyal! You’re a genius!” They will try to close the door on u, just open it.”

“Give thanks to the most high.” These aren’t things he just says, he says these things all the time on his records, in interviews, award shows, everywhere. For that, he is one of the biggest and most successful artists with tons of number 1 hits- songs like “All I do is Win”, “im the one”, “Shining”. Now, I am not saying, as a believer, go cop a Khalid record...you can, if that’s your cup of tea.

What I am saying is that he has created a atmosphere around him that brings him nothing but blessings. See, this doesn’t just work for believers. A law is something that everyone has access to - both the just and the unjust. So, when the world realizes that there is power in speaking positive, power in putting blessing in the air, we as believers are the ones who look crazy when we aren’t exposing our own personal world to the blessing of our speech. The point I am trying to make is that, if there is power in what you say, why are you not using this power constantly? Do you understand that when God spoke, it happened? Have you ever been somewhere and you said I sure wish I could see so and so, and so and so showed up? That’s not by chance, that is the law of attraction. Weird? Yea, but so is gravity; we have no problem believe that gravity is a law that can NOT be changed.Watch the words that are coming out of your mouth *in my Chris Tucker voice* I believe when you keep speaking blessings and positivity and over saturate the atmosphere with positivity, the has to come back to you.

Let me give you an example: take this bucket for example:

Most people in a lifetime don’t speak enough positivity to fill up this bucket. If speaking blessings worked like pouring water in a bucket and when the bucket gets full you could overflow the bucket, we would go HAM on the positivity we speak.

Would you limit how much positivity you spoke? Let's just stop saying “I'm broke”, “I cant ..”, “I don’t have… “, “that’s not working for me.. “, “I hate …, “I don’t like… “. You know how we do! Think of every blessing spoken as if it was a cup of water, every curse you gave was like minus a cup of water, and when you overflow the bucket, the blessings you put in there come back down to you .

Don’t you think you would be machine gunning praises and blessing to everyone? Try to think of your speech as like an amount of water being poured in a big bucket, and like only God knows how deep that bucket is. When it gets full, all those GREAT things you put in the atmosphere come back to you. I am not saying that this is what happens, but this is just to illustrate how speaking blessing can change your life...in my DJ Khalid voice ....
