Parental Thoughts

Proverbs 6:20 "My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching."

This is a very wise statement to teach kids about the importance of listening to their parents. This also a very wise statement for parents to make sure they are teaching their child how to be a productive member of society. So often we blame the child for a lot of the wrong they do and say, but sometimes we have to look at what we are teaching our children as parents. Now I am not here to tell you how to parent, but I am here to tell you your children are a direct reflection of what you are teaching them. When we teach our children, according to the bible, the child is to blink them to their heart 21Bind them always on your heart; fasten them around your neck. 22 When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you. The question remains, what are you teaching your children? We are preparing our children to be in charge of the world, have we been teaching our children the necessary tools to be productive and successful? Do we encourage critical thinking, entrepreneurship, and respect? God is calling us to teach our children to Love God first. It’s our duty to shape our kids mind to always put God first. If we do that, the word promises “when you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.”
